Sound Map

SoundMap

For this composition I was tasked with creating an abstract sound map of my surroundings.

I made this based on my time at the schools library. I actually work behind the desk so I am very familiar with the sounds there, and contrary to popular belief the library is not a quiet place. The offset squares in this piece represent the white noise that is constantly there from the fans and the computers. The curved blue lines are the door that is behind me and makes this metallic swinging sound. The straight green lines represent the printer as the inkjet moves from side to side. Finally the white dots are the sounds of footsteps on the tile floor.
